Swimming with Dolphins, Akaroa
Akaroa Harbour is around 90 minutes’ drive from Christchurch. Akaroa township is a quaint, French inspired seaside village which is very romantic and unique in New Zealand. It's the only place on the planet where you can swim with the world's smallest and rarest dolphins - the Hector's or New Zealand dolphin. Black Cat Cruises operate a jet-powered catamaran for ultimate safety for guests and the dolphins. Everything is provided including wetsuits, masks, snorkels, hot showers, hot chocolate. We will also take optional photos of you swimming with dolphins. The three hours includes half an hour for pre-cruise briefing and putting on the wetsuits, two hours on the water with up to 45 minutes in the water with dolphins, and half an hour following excursion for debrief, hot drink and shower.
Prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). The tour is available each day from 1 September to 30 April.
Swimming with dolphins is available only for children of 8 years and over. Children of 5 years and over may be a spectator.

Total duration of the tour
100% cancellation fee apply if you cancel the tour within 48 hours before the tour.
Refund Policy: In the unlikely event that customers do not see any dolphins, we offer a 50% refund (both adults and children swimmers) or they can come again another day. (swimmers and watchers). If customers see the dolphins but cannot swim with them, then we offer a 25% refund.
