Milford Track Guided Day Walk, Fiordland NP
The Milford Track is renowned for its dramatic alpine scenery, clear rivers and dense rainforest. You may start the tour in Queenstown or Te Anau and take a coach trip to Te Anau Downs. From here, enjoy a one hour scenic lake cruise to the head of Lake Te Anau to the start of the track. Begin with a gentle stroll from Glade Wharf, following the Clinton River and the Glade Burn to historic Glade House for a picnic lunch (included). Then cross a swing bridge and walk through ancient beech forest and grassy flats. A specialist Nature Guide will explain the track’s history and point out native birds and plants as they lead a 4-5 hour leisurely walk on a gentle gradient (9-11 kms return) with a maximum of 12 walkers per guide. Following the guided walk, return by catamaran and then coach to Queenstown.
