Rotorua Small Group Guided Tour from Auckland
Enjoy a tour of Rotorua's top 4 visitor attractions. Visit Te Puia, one of New Zealand's foremost cultural venues where you’ll visit the artisan schools, where apprentices are trained in traditional skills by master carvers and weavers. You’ll receive a traditional welcome and gain an understanding of this unique culture and its history. Next, venture into a landscape unlike any other with a guided tour of the bubbling mudpools and active geysers of the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. See the world-famous Pohutu geyser unleash vapour jets up to 30 metres high.
Take the Skyline Gondola up the side of Mount Ngongotaha. From 487 metres above sea level you'll have stunning panoramic views of Lake Rotorua, the town and surrounding landscape. The leisurely uphill gondola affords unsurpassed views of the lakes, forest and geothermal areas. Once at the top you will taste a gourmet meal with an amazing Rotorua lake view.
Then discover a close connection with all the birds, bugs and beasts that call New Zealand home, including the ancient Tuatara at Rainbow Springs Nature Park, set amongst the native trees and beautiful forests that you are free to explore. Learn about the iconic & endangered flightless Kiwi and sneak a peek at them in the nocturnal viewing house.
Then experience NZ’s agricultural heritage first hand at the Agrodome, an organic working farm on the outskirts of the city. Get an insight into farming life in New Zealand as you see sheep-shearers in action and view a live sheep dog trial.
