Coach Tour Cape Reinga and Ninety Mile Beach (return ex Paihia)
Capture one of the quintessential New Zealand experiences in your heart with this journey to the very edge of the North Island's northern coastline - Cape Reinga. This entire region is untouched, still looking like it has for thousands of years (apart from the odd road sign or barn!) and steeped in rich Maori history. Your friendly driver knows this area like the back of their hand, and doubles as an expert guide to tell you all the harrowing tales, legends and traditions of this stunning landscape. Make your way North via the Puketi Kauri Forest where you can marvel at the giant Kauri trees and lush native bush that surround you. When you reach the Cape, remember to grab your camera to capture the historic lighthouse, dramatic coastline and expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea as they collide with each other as far as your eye can see. You tour also includes a visit to the famous Ninety Mile Beach, where you can stretch your legs and hit up the dunes to try your luck at sand-boarding! Your custom-built coach is designed to take on the rugged terrain of the Te Pake Stream track out to the dunes, so strap in and enjoy the ride. For those who prefer a more relaxed beach stop, your driver will show you how to dig for shellfish in the shallows. Spend your home-bound journey back to the Bay of Islands listening to the great knowledge, stories and jokes from your driver, and appreciate the beauty that is New Zealand. Lunch is provided on this tour.
