Auckland City Sights Tour and Harbour Cruise
More than just a city, Auckland is a whole region full of things to see and do. Experience some of the history, culture and scenic highlights on this half-day tour, followed by a fabulous harbour cruise. Leaving at 9:45, the tour takes you along famous Queen Street, edgy ‘K’ Road, fashionable Ponsonby, boutique Parnell (where you will briefly stop) as well as the iconic Harbour Bridge & Viaduct Harbour with its revitalised Silo Park.
You’ll also visit the Domain, the 75 hectare historic park home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Just above Mission Bay is one of the scenic highlights: Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park which offers stunning views over the picturesque Eastern Bays, Auckland City and the Waitemata Harbour. Returning to downtown Auckland, you’ll board your boat tour for an up close look at the harbour.
As you cruise, the knowledgeable crew will keep you informed about what you are seeing. Passing Devonport’s historic naval dockyard, you’ll see the Bean Rock Lighthouse, the only surviving wooden cottage lighthouse in NZ, first lit in 1871. Your tour includes a brief stopover at Rangitoto Island, a distinctive Auckland landmark, formed by a series of massive eruptions around 600 years ago & now a thriving nature reserve.
